One of the many FREE ways of adverting on the internet is through Blogs. What is it? A blog is basically an informal on-line diary. It's more conversational and easier to read and browse through than a website. And right now, it's the trend for younger generations.
So why would you want to blog? First of all, you can update blogs from anywhere -- instantly! Second, you don't need any technical skills to create one. It's for everyday people. And lastly, it's a way for people to interact with you on-line.
Who actually reads the blogs and why? Most blog readers get their news and info on blogs instead of through traditional means (TV, radio or newspaper). You'd be interested and probably a bit surprised by the following demographics of blog readers.
•50% of blog readers are over 30 years old •75% earn more than $45,000 annually (they spend a lot of time on line and are web savvy) •75% are used to making sales on line •90% view blog writers as experts
If you want to start a blog, you can go to www.blogger.com and create one from there. It's pretty simple and self explanatory.
Once you've created an account, what do you write about? You can really blog about anything, but for our purposes, we're going to go over what kind of information is helpful when you're creating a blog that will attract people to your business.
A helpful question you can ask yourself is "Would someone want to read what I'm writing?" It's all about your prospect. They need to feel like you're giving them information they didn't have before.
Don't write about adventures with your family or problems you're having with your friends. This is not the forum for that. You need to give value and educate the reader.
Write about a great capture page you found; what kind of services you received when you bought your domain name; or some good books you've read that helped you with your business. Give them links to go to get more information.
Another thing to keep in mind when you're writing your blog entries is that this is NOT the place to mention your home-based business. Readers don't want to feel like you're trying to sell them something.
As readers continue to view your blog and feel that they are learning from you, they can decide to click onto the link you've created that will them about your business.
